The Velasquex

We have thrived from the mistakes of others. Learning their ways through slavery, and mastering them through secrecy, we overcame our suppressors. Four emerged with a presence like that of the horsemen themselves; bringing forth this cursed “gift” to the world.

 

Our bloodline began with Equinox Velasquex. It is unknown if he was the eldest or the third child, but what is known, is that he was the first to cast off the shadow and bring our name to the light. In a realm far from here he began as a personal researcher for the Dagger family; serving their lord, Nightfall Dagger, personally. With our gift to cultivate knowledge and master techniques, he ushered the family down a path leading towards domination of all others who would gaze upon the night sky. But as a teacher of a student obsessed with power, he knew his fate would come from the hands of those who sought his abilities. With some knowledge comes confusion, along with distrust and paranoia; and blood will always run thicker than… The night before he was killed, he made love to a woman named Destiny, who would bare his son, Lenexus. Knowing of the power he must possess, Destiny sent her son to study with a foreigner named Edo Omari, in a realm she knew nothing about…

 

Edo Omari treated Lenexus as if he was his own, making sure the boy learned where he came from, who he truly was, and the power he would pass on to the others. Towering over most and engulfing himself in the warmth of negativity, he forced his place in the world by roaring like a lion. He kept those who walked the same path as he close…to his right and left stood Chrixtion and Koran at all times…and behind him with a thirst only quenched by destruction, beamed the mighty Ramnos and Salix. This stretch of time, like our blood, is a sweet rarity in our history; and negativity begets negativity. With the death of Edo, Lenexus lost grip with reality. Seeing no reason in life but hatred towards all that did not stand beside him, he sought death for all those in his path. Many were lost, and it was unknown who remained; but the greatest loss of all was Lenexus himself. With no children, the sun set silently on the first season known to our timeline…

 

If our motivation is solitude, we will remain in the company of loneliness. If our motivation is destruction, we will see nothing but defeat. As a new sun has risen, our hunger for knowledge will hopefully cover a distance only known to light itself. And with that light will come warmth like that of our homeland. May we remain as constant as the stars, and may all those who stand with us appreciate the heat we exude. We will view the stubborn eagerness of those who taint our paths as nothing less than them seeking Death himself…

Camina de Sombra (Path of Shadows)

Level 1: Ojos de la Noche (Night Eyes)
With this power it allows the subject to see within the shadows, the subject must focus on the shadows for a moment his/hers eyes will take on a glossy black color when using this, higher the level of this will allow the subject to see more clearly through the shadows (auto unless someone is masked in the shadow, then requires them to out roll you by 4 not to see unless they are a shadow user too then would be higher roll)

Level 2: Jugando con Sombra (Playing with Shadow)
The subject focuses on the shadows around his/her self willing them under control allowing the subject to Extend, Retract, lash out, fight, darken their color or lighten, , surround a target , move objects ( Locked for more def)

Level 3: Braso del Abismo (Arms of the Abyss)
The user can call forth tentacle like structures (chains, squid like, shadows themselves) and use them to grab, attack, or even as a defense against the opponent. The user calls forth and even number of tentacles for every even level. (must out roll the target to strike using this)

Level 4: Sombra del Fuego (Shadow of Fire)
At this level the subject may combine shadow with fire so it would seem, The shadows around the subject flicker as if on fire, anyone attempting the approach the subject must make a roll higher than the subject , If the target beats the subject nothing happens, If the subject wins on the roll anyone coming near him will be covered in a wave of shadows which cover the target burning into his/her flesh as if fire, The shadows stop burning if the subject retreats from the subject ( roll 12, to ignite, and a roll more then two to beat, can not be used except in defence.)


Level 5: Sofacacion de la Sombra (Suffocation of the Shadow)
At this level of mastery the subject may cover a target, the shadows seeping into every being of the target until he/she is a shadow, The target which is covered may not attack unless mental, and may not speak, The subject may cause damage to his/her now shadowy target but may not kill them, The subject may only hurt the target up to half his/her hp. If damage is dealt to the target she will retain them when he/she turns back to normal, The power lasts for one entire day (perfect roll, unless defined more)


Level 6: Mi Hermano Sombra
The subject may animate his/her own shadow into a being all its on with its hp/abuse points are have of the subjects, The shadow may be used to attack, defend, but may not use any of the casters other powers while the shadow remains unattached it is under the control of the owner, at any time the caster may will the shadow back to its normal state ( Ritual, must roll 500 and have a 80percent roll )

Camina de Muerte (Path of Death)

Level 1: Llora Muerte (Night cry)
The subject with this power may summon any of his kin to his location even in death, The target may or may not come but will know the location of the other party (roll 1-5 )

Level 2: Hora de los Muertos (Hour of Death)
The subject only has to draw a door on any surface but must be large enough for him/her to pass through, Once drew the subject focuses for 1 hour on the door then cuts his/her wrist drawing on the outline of the door allowing him to open it to see into the underworld but not step through (roll 5-10)

Level 3: Mano del Muerte (Hand of Death)
The Hour of Death must be used before this one is allowed to work, The subject may now step into the underworld and move about normally as if he/she was in the physical world, The time allowed in the underworld depends on the characters roll ( roll 1-5 .3 hrs, roll 6-10, 8 hrs, roll 11-15, 12 hrs anything above 15 will allow one to stay an entire day and night in the underworld)

Hablando con Muerte (Conversing with Death)
This power allows the wielder of it to speak with any dead he may come in contact with, the undead may know any knowledge even future events (roll 10 and above 10 gets a hello, 40 gets much, ((the dead only hold knowledge for a short time so information lasts depending on age of dead as well.)) depending on the roll when speaking to the undead, on how much they know on the subject the caster speaks of)

Level 4: Toca de Muerte (Touch of Death)
With this power the caster has to touch the intended victim's part with his hand ,If successful the targets limb which is touched becomes unmovable for 3 hours from the sudden death jolt that runs through the limb. This power may only be used on arms, legs, hands, etc. It may not be used on a persons head, also if the caster wishes he may infuse a weapon with this thing but it takes a very different effect. If a weapon is the caster's choice of this he must place the weapon in his/her lap concentrating on the death which lies around the area pulling them into the weapon of choice. The weapon once infused with this either takes on a neon purple glow or a soft green glow, as well as when the weapon strikes, teeth latch onto the body part struck 
and bite deeper causing more damage. The teeth are the longing of the dead and their jealousy of the living. Also the weapon will permanently hold its glow and teeth ( roll must exceed the target by 16 to work)

Level 5: Dia de la Muerte (Day of the Dead)
Allows the caster to peer into ones soul and find the thing that scares the target most and place it in front of them, The fear placed before the target may not attack but only speak to the target, The caster must first lock eyes with the target, If the caster wishes the fear to take actions he must first pull it from the targets mind and then make another roll . If failed the fear may turn on the caster (roll 8 higher then the target for pulling the fear from the mind roll roll of 14 more then target to have it take actions)

Level 6: Luz Distante (Distant Light) Ritual
The caster must first have an item of great value of the target before beginning. The caster second draws a circle using his own blood and controls the shadows to lie within his blood. Third he must sit for an entire day within the circle chanting the name of the target and the wrong doings he or she has done, After this is done the caster must then slice his wrists spilling enough the cover the inside of the circle (which is 5 by 5 ) 
screaming his anger out into the darkness. After this is done the ritual takes its full effect on the target at hand. Next the target goes to sleep. The Arm of the first tears from under the where the target lays, and pulled into the inky blackness of the shadow lands towards the abyss. The find themselves trapped, and all they can see is a dim light, and that light lights nothing but a path, that if they choose to take, will lead them through eternity to nowhere.... (ritual roll of 20 million, must notify target and out roll them by 60 unless spell is altered having a counter and duration.)

Level 7: Beso de Muerte (Kiss of Death)

Stemming from the betrayal of the Dagger woman who killed Equinox, Death comforts us in times of heartache.  This may only be used on a significantother, and is simply a Russian roulette. If a spouse/girlfriend/fiancée is in guilt for an act of betrayal, the Velasquex may invoke this spell, and each of the star crossed lovers rolls one dice…and the one who loses will have the shoulder of death to cry on forever… (Both individuals must agree on the terms and the outcome.)


Camina de Olvido (Path of Oblivion...)

Level 1: Consume the Dead
Allows the subject the feed from the flesh of a willing or unwilling target to restore lost strength and blood. A roll is made if the target is unwilling (must out roll target by 5 per bite)  May also be used on the dead in the underworld

Level 2: Aura of Decay
This allows the subject to feed from a dead target allowing the same benefits as if they where alive, may also be used on the undead in the underworld (auto unless using on a player)

Level 3: Dark Touch
With this power the caster may focus the power of oblivion into his hands to wield a danger all their own. The subject must first focus on the oblivion which lays deep within him/her pulling it to the surface so as to be 
used as a weapon, once done the casters hands glow a neon purple or green cracking like lighting as it attempts to stay on the surface. If struck by one using this power the power is discharged into the target causing them to fly back unless they somehow remain still. The power jolts through their entire body causing their vision to blur and strength to slowly drain as oblivion feeds from within them (must out roll target is used as a normal weapon drawing hit points based on the isle chart.) If a demon is struck by this power it causes them double the damage for their natural ways in darkness allowing oblivion to feed from them easier

Level 4 Oblivion's Touch
With this The Dark Touch must be used first calling forth oblivion from within. This power allows the caster to hurl bolts of oblivion from his hands at a target intended and if focused well enough may hurl more than one 
at different targets (roll of 1 less per dot per die to create, ((example if you have 3 6sided dice you have to have a total of 15.  out roll target to throw if strikes does double damage)

Camina de Vela ( Path of Knowledge)

Level 1: Thirst for Knowledge
The Velasquex have always had an urge to continue to learn. At this point, the vampire may travel down a path of it's choosing, spending countless time researching for years...decades, to start adding to it's ways. No roll is needed just the drive for learning is all that is required. (Max 2 levels in this section. The subject must take a SIGNIFICANT amount of time, i.e. a month, away from things to search out what he seeks, write up the spells, get them approved, etc.)

Level 2 Call the Elders Blood
With this a Velasquex may call from the depths of his blood for strength, the blood slowly itself aging thousands of years in moments. This power only lasts up to five minutes max. Allowing them 1 extra side for one action in any type of action. The bad part of this is once used the Velasquex must rest for 12 hrs only being able to talk and moves his arms, walking it out of the question as well as using any power over 4. (must use a ritual of 1000 with no less then three 80 percents, no roll under 50 percent counts and then a roll of 80 percent to ignite.) 

Shadow Body
With this the Velasquex may suck the shadows into himself, his flesh, blood, and bone turning into a shadow as well as his clothing. May not attack or be
struck unless by magical, enhanced, etc. items that can do such , (auto unless in battle, if in battle must roll 50 percent of their total dice, they can not attack in this state only escape)
