Character History:

Rolly Thorn was born and raised in the city of Tavisht by semi-wealthy parents. His father, a master builder, specialized in the construction of stone houses and other such buildings and his mother was a seamstress. His father's work was sought after and paid nicely for so the family never wanted for anything.
He was the youngest of the children, 2 brothers and a sister, and as such, he was often doted on by his parents to the derision of his siblings. Their constant jealousy and antagonism towards him led him to be aloof, a loner from the rest. But all in all, life was good.
Growing up, Rolly was left to decide his course in life as his brothers followed in his father's footsteps. It was decided that there was no need for 3 such artisans to run in the family. So Rolly looked around, he wandered much of the city, seeking out that which he wanted to do.
One day, he met a man who needed someone to help infiltrate a local gang of thieves. Rolly's physical abilities as well as his amazing dexterity and balance made him seem to be the perfect candidate for the job. Over a short period of time, his new employer taught him the ropes of being a thief and helped him to establish a new identity for himself, one that would be completely different from his everyday life (Alternate Identity). At the age of 16, Rolly left his home under the auspice of going to visit a relative in a nearby city while in reality, he assumed the new role of his life, or rather the role of his new identity, Martin Brandt, and made his way slowly into the band of thieves, only occasionally slipping away to report to his boss. For over a year Martin continued to pose as a member of the band, learning their in's and outs as well as there sources and their contacts within the community. With each passing month, he gained more and more of a foothold in the "underworld". It was also during this time, watching his cohorts rob, pillage and rape that Rolly discovered within himself a distinct feeling of revolt at the actions the group took against women. Their nights with prostitutes, their downlook on the opposite sex, their total disregard for a female turned his stomach. It was all he could do to go against these feeling and keep from strangling those he called friend. His own personal code called out to him to protect and defend the women that his band seemed to disregard (Code of Honor).
But the story took a wicked turn for the young man. On one of the capers of his crew, he discovered that the next target for their criminal minds was his very own family. As much as his mind and spirit revolted at the idea, he knew that to blow the cover he had worked so hard to establish now would mean his death. So Martin continued to play the part, helping the band to establish the plan that they would take to rob his family of all they had while slipping away on a separate occasion to report what was happening to his friend so that perhaps the band could be stopped.
It was then that Martin discovered the grim truth to the band. Or rather to the leader of the band. On the night of the planned robbery, there was indeed a small group of guards waiting for the thieves. But all was for naught as the leader revealed himself to be a night-walker, a vampire. With cold efficiency, the night-walker ripped through the guards who had lain in wait, and then through Martins's very own family. Watching from the shadows, helpless to do anything, Martin watched as the vampire took his mother, and then his older sister, feeding on them, draining them of their life's blood. When the night was over, Martin was left with no more than the identity he had, the small trust that his father had set up for him, and the knowledge that one day he would make this heinous creature pay for his crimes.
Martin returned with the band after there night of chaos, cultivating his plans, waiting for the opportunity while keeping his identity safely hidden. Martin watched and waited, using his amazing knack for stealth to one night follow the groups leader to his place of rest, recording everything he could. When the first chance arose, Martin slipped away from the group and reported to his employer about what had occurred and what he knew. Detailing the route to the haven, and the layout of the place, allowing those who knew best how to handle the situation to enact his revenge. Two days later his prayers were answered as a group of guards led by members of the church, invaded the haven of the vampire and ended his days of walking the night.
Shortly thereafter, Martins's employer along with another group of guards descended on the thieves one by one, capturing or killing them off. Leaving only Martin to escape, Identity intact. Allowing him to once more assume his real name, knowing he had something safe to fall back on if he ever needed to hide or gain information from the "darker" side of the city.
It was not long after this incident, that fate twisted his life once more. While wandering through the forest one evening, just outside of Tavisht, Rolly ran across the path of a young looking lady. Thinking she needed help, Rolly rushed to her aid, discovering only at the last moment that his very code of honor had been his downfall. The woman before him was in no trouble at all but rather was something that Rolly had seen once before, a vampire. With a speed unseen by the young man, and a strength unstoppable, the woman took the lad, sinking her fangs deep into his tender flesh, drinking his life's blood and turning him into something he had once despised, bringing him into the life of the vampire, the life of a gangrel. It was then that Rolly realized how his earlier experience of watching his mother and sister die had changed him. He could not bring himself to prey on a female. Regardless of his hunger, he could not prey upon a woman (Prey Exclusion Flaw). Thus the young man proceeded down the path that he now lives.
For many years, Rolly and storm walked together, moving from place to place as she taught him the things she had learned over the years. The bond between the two growing stronger with the passing time. As the years of wandering finally took a toll on the two, they decided to settle down finally, in a small village in South America. Here they stayed, growing closer, learning about the nature of the area, and occassionally helping out the local villagers when a problem arose. For both of them, this suited them well.
Then, a few years after settling down, the two found their world torn apart as a local despot decided that the local village was upon territory that he wanted to use for growing of his drugs. Of course, at the time, this angered the two, neither wished to see their "friends" turned out of their village, or the local country torn apart for such a menial thing as this. When the tyrant sent his troops into the area to "evict" the villagers, Storm and Rolly were there beside the almost helpless people, using their abilities and skills to turn the tide of the situation in the favor of the people. Then, things went terribly wrong. Finding the situation to be growing rapidly out of hand, the tyrant called in more troops, unleashing a full-scale war in the area. The countryside shook with the assault, forcing the villagers to begin a rapid escape. Along with a few of the bravest men, Rolly decided to stay and hold back the encroaching tide while Storm accompanied the villagers to a new home.
It was the beginning of a long seperation for the two. In the course of protecting the fleeing villagers, Rolly's part was ambush, each member being slowly and surely killed. Before long, only the "young" Rolly was left. Caught inside an ever tightening circle of hostile people, alone, he began to take on the role of hiding and running. At each turn, the "enemy" thought they had trapped him, only to be led onwards, slowly circling out towards the nearest big city. After what seemed ages to the haggard Rolly, he finally slipped through the noose, making his way into the heart of the city where he believed he would be safe, at least for now.
His first order of business was to rest, the toll of the fighting and the chase had been great on such a "young" one. His sleep was deep and long, when he awoke, he found that he had lost all contact with his mentor and companion. For most of his "new" life, rolly had lived outside heavily populated areas, so as he began his search for Storm, he found that he had to live on his natural instincts and his wits to survive the dark and sometimes deadly streets of the city. Time passed, though he knew not how much, and Rolly began to search outwards from the city, scouring the countryside, then moving onto the neighboring villages and cities. At each one, he failed to find that which he sought, but he did find rumors and clues. Following those, Rolly continued his search, Eventually, something, perhaps it was a calling from something higher than himself, or a hidden thought that he somehow stumbled upon, Rolly found himself searching out into the vast expanses of the ocean, until he stumbled upon a mysterious island that had never been heard of. It was here, alone once more, with no one to guide him, that Rolly felt a familiar presence, a feeling he hadn't felt in a long, long time. It was here, on this strange island that he found his Storm, and something unthought of.....
