Type of Character: Caspian Tiger shifter

Character Description: Stands 5’10” in her bare feet, long silvery blond hair and green eyes. Slender but not skinny, solidly built.

Mental Description:  

Character History: Born in a small village that hugged the shores of the Caspian Sea in Russia Tarryn was one of three offspring. The entire population of the village were tiger shifters that had lived in harmony with the regular tiger population for thousands of years.

But at the beginning of the 20th century, the Russian government worked heavily to eradicate the Caspian tiger during an extensive land reclamation program. There was no room for the tiger in their plans, and government officials instructed the Russian army to exterminate all tigers found around the area of the Caspian Sea, a project that was carried out very efficiently. Once the extermination of the Caspian tiger was almost complete, farmers cleared forests and planting crops such as rice and cotton. Due to intensive hunting and deforestation, the Caspian tiger retreated first from the lush lowlands to the forested ranges, then to the marshes around some of the larger rivers, and finally, deeper into the mountains, until it almost certainly became extinct. The last stronghold of the Caspian tiger in the former Soviet Union was in the Tigrovaya Balka area.

 Since all of the men and most of the children were killed this forced the survivors into hiding they built a hidden stronghold inside a warren of subterranean caves deep in the mountains. Fearful of total extinction forays to the outside were few and only when strictly necessary.

 Without males their numbers dwindled some chose to leave in the hopes of finding males to have children with. Many stayed and in time there were but a few remaining young females, Tarryn being one of them. Deciding that they had a better chance of survival if they struck out looking for others of their kind that might have survived they left behind the safety of the caves.

Crossing the wilderness of Russia was faster in Tiger form and as the small group made their way towards Moscow they were spotted by a wildlife research team. The team thinking they had found their claim to fame in the four Caspian Tigers who humans believed to be extinct shot them with tranquilizer darts and caged them to transport to their lab in Florida.

The Florida coast in sight a storm blew up knocking the plane off course, it ended up being caught in the wards that surround the island and crashing into the heavily forested terrain.Tarryn, whose cage was at the center of the plane was the sole survivor.
