Character Description: Approximately 5’8”, long dark red and black hair and dark blue eyes. Typical female Fires build, curvy but strong. On her upper arm a tattoo reads “Resistance”. Usually dressed in denim or leather with her Fires boots and jacket.

History:
Born in 1920
in Ireland (her Father full blooded
Irish, her Mother half Irish and half Basque),
Janae was nine years old at the start of the Great Depression. Prior to
1929 her family (parents and 6 siblings) relocated to London with the hope
of steady work and a better life but when the work dried up due to the
depression her parents returned to Ireland. As the Depression lingered
into the 1930’s, many Irish youth angry and frustrated by continuing
English interference in their country and what they saw as a lack of a
future had turned to violence and drugs as an answer.
Janae had
become a disillusioned and headstrong teenager who got involved with a boy
who was part of a group of young IRA members. Sick of feeling helpless and
of being angry and poor she found in the IRA a place to give vent to those
emotions. She would often remark it was not just the “cause” she was
loyal to the thrill of staying one step ahead of the law, always on a
knife’s edge. Striking at the “evil” English by attacking financial
centres and destroying property, trade lines and real estate. She became
adept at weaponry and explosives.
By the time Janae was 19 she had taken part in bombings, killings
and other violence. She had been put out of her parents home before that
for fear her activities would bring trouble to the rest of her law abiding
family.
Roughly a year later heavy government scrutiny had made it
necessary for the local members of the cadre Janae was a part of to get
“normal” jobs to throw off suspicion. Janae got hired on at a local
Inn as a counter person. Despite her off-hour activities she was well
liked and did well at the job eventually earning a “room and board”
raise as part of her employment. In the course of her job she met a lot of
different people, including a man by the name of Jaken Fires. They stuck
up something of a friendship despite an age gap (more of a gap that Janae
had any idea of) and each time Jaken would travel through that part of
Ireland he would make it a point to stay at the Inn Janae worked at. Over
the next year Jaken came to view Janae as an adored younger sister and
would sometimes spend more time then he could afford with her. Janae knew
there was something different about her new friend but was not one to ask
questions. It was the first time Janae had gotten to know someone not part
of her cadre. She never mentioned her friendship with Jaken to anyone.
When Janae was 22 years old she had all but decided to leave the
IRA, maybe move to America, start over, when everything went wrong.
Somehow the commander of the cadre had learned of her friendship with
Jaken, believing she had sold them out her death as a traitor was ordered.
Janae was gunned down in the back alley behind the Inn and left for dead
as message to others. Lying in the filthy alley in her own blood was where
Jaken found Janae close to death. Unable to stand by while she died he
made the decision that would save her life, he gave her his blood.
Moving in and out of unconsciousness during the change Jaken stayed
with her until her transformation was complete. Then making sure she could
feed he packed her up and sent her to the Fires home base while he went to
confront those that had tried to kill her. He never returned. It was over
a year before Jasislya, the head of the Fires, was able to learn of
Jaken’s fate. He had gone in alone and while he had killed most of those
connected to Janae’s death he had been killed when reinforcements
arrived.
Solstice
