Character History
Brian Phillips, was born in 1488 in a small hamlet
outside of England. He was born to
a pair of mortals by the name of Draco Velora and Loraine Cheetah.
His life up until he was the age of six was as eventful as any other
normal child’s life, but in 1494 he was swept away from his twin sister Felcon
as well as his father. Loraine took
him away from his father, who had changed his name to Amethyst, and joined a
family by the name of RuKain. Once
he was away from his twin sister and his father, his mother took him to France,
and to Italy to become educated, and to keep him away from the ideals of his
father. Loraine never told him that she was just like her husband.
A vampire by night, and asleep by day.
Brian was made to learn all that he could until he was the age of 18, and
decided to seek his true father out, and find out about his own lineage.
Brian returned to England, to that same hamlet that he had lived in so
very long ago in his eyes, seeking his father by the name of Draco, and by the
name of Amethyst. He had learned
where he could find the man, and sought him out immediatly to clear up his past
and find out who he truly was. This
ended in disaster though when Brian was taken and completely drained by the
father he sought, in one of his fathers blinded bloodlusting rages.
Amethyst, immediatly feeling sorrow over what he had done, did the only
thing he could to save his biological child’s life, and that was to give him
the dark gift of embracement. Brian
was appalled when he learned what he had become, the very thing he hated about
his mother, the very thing that had turned his world upside down at the tender
age of six years. So he left his
father once he had recovered, to find his way on his own.
Brian quickly traveled across the straights, and back to continental
Europe, thinking he was safe from his father’s wickedness.
He traveled at night, and alone, keeping away from anything mortal and
thriving on animal blood for sustenance. In
1329 he crossed the borders into the chinese highlands, following the well
traveled spice route. He had still
not taken the blood of a human being, until he came upon a small village,
surrounded by rice patties on all sides. An
imperial village, supplying food to the Emporer’s Palace. Here he saw the most beautiful woman he had ever laid eyes
on, and he decided that he had to have her.
But when he tried to get close to her on night, she only turned and fled
from him, seeing him for what he was physically, instead of what he was inside.
And so, enraged as he was at this, he took the woman into his embrace and
drained her completely, falling asleep with her dead body beyond the rice
patties. When he awoke, he knew it was too late for him to save her,
and so he dug a pit and buried the woman inside, continuing on his way with only
one thought on his mind.....Am I to be like this for eternity?
Once he reached the ocean again, it was 1335, he had taken his time,
trying to avoid being discovered and sticking to the dense forest for shelter
and solitude. He turned back,
deciding that perhaps his only choice was to join with his father in his unholy
onslaught of humankind, and subsist as such for eternity.
After traveling back towards the spice route, he came upon a small dojo.
Monks of all kinds were outside tending to the life of the earth, and in
the middle of the night! He
didn’t know what they were doing there and so he came to one and asked his
questions. He had learned a bit of
chinese from his travels, just listening and watching people, and so without too
much difficulty he conversed with this man, and after a while he saw the man’s
fangs. All of the monk’s were
vampires just like he was. He was
so overjoyed, that he asked the monk if he could stay here for the rest of his
unlife, and learn their ways and live just as they did.
And they agreed.
Many years passed at the monastary, and Brian was content for well over
four hundred years, when one day while he was raking the sand, he saw a face
from the past. His father stood
before him, silver hair wavering in the moonlit bamboo forest, and his amethyst
eyes for which he was named were shining with happiness.
Brian immediatly ran towards his father and drove the end of his rake
through his father’s shoulder, pinning him to the ground with it.
After that he just ran, he knew he could never return to the monastary,
because they forbid violence. He
didn’t stop running until it was time for the sun to come up, and he just sank
into the earth. When he awoke the next night, his father was waiting for him,
and the man was healed! He
couldn’t figure out what had happened, but his father looked just like he did
the very last night.
After much conversation and communion with his father, he learned that
Amethyst had come upon a group of creatures, that were like vampires, but in the
same sense were not. He had looked
and looked for Brian, so that he could share his new gift with his son.
Brian was disgusted with his father though, and took his leave from the
man that had had a part in his birth. Before
he got two steps though, Amethyst caught him and spit at Brian’s face, a small
droplet of liquid flying from his mouth and traveling into Brian’s mouth.
This small droplet, unbeknownst to Brian, was an egg.
This egg would make Brian into the same as Amethyst, whether he wanted to
be or not. Brian, thinking that his
father was just insulting him continued on his way, telling Amethyst to never
show his face again, or fear the death that Brian would rain down upon him.
In the 1800s, Brian returned to his homeland of England to live alone,
thinking that nobody would ever take him for who he was, instead of what he was.
He did not know he had undergone any transformation, but he felt alot
more sure of himself after 20 years of living alone, and so he resurfaced to
make something of himself. He began
to work, and make money. He felt
that if he could not have emotional ties, he would fill that void with the
physical. After only a few weeks
working in an all night bookstore, he met a beautiful young woman, who
introduced herself as Amat. He
didn’t think much of it, but Amat had, after only one meeting, become
enthralled by Brian. She thought he
would make the perfect mate, and so she kept on returning to the bookstore,
night after night to spend time with Brian.
After almost 60 years, Brian had taken ownership of the well off
bookstore, and he finally caught on to what Amat was thinking.
He was slowly falling in love with the woman who was so much like he was,
alone, wanting, needing. And so he
agreed to close the bookstore down early and go with her.
They left England and traveled southward, crossing the Mediteranean Sea,
and entering Morocco. There Amat
took Brian to meet the Prince of Morocco, and got permission from her old friend
to stay there at the palace and live for a while.
The night they arrived, Brian and Amat finally reached their room, and
both of them overtaken with love for each other began to make love.
But not long into the act, Amat was overcome with the Beast inside and
tried to kill her lover. Brian, not knowing what was going on, did the only thing he
knew to do, and that was to jam Amat on the post of the wooden bed.
The post went straight through the woman’s heart and sent her into
torpor. Brian was overcome with
grief over what he had done, and didn’t know how to undo it, and so he took
Amat and that post, and he made a crypt for his first love, and left her there,
deciding that he would travel the seas to get to America.
Along the way his small ship was tossed in a storm, off course and
straight into a reef. He awoke the
next evening on the beach of an island.

Physical
Description
Brian stands about 5 foot 11 inches, and weighs in at just over 180
pounds. He has the build of a
Bantam weight boxer. His eyes change color along with his mood, but are normally
teal green. He also has long,
flowing, silver-streaked, raven black hair. He
normally wears a pair of baggy leather pants, of the cargo persuasion, and a
sleeveless leather tactical vest. On
his right shoulder, a titanium shoulder plate is strapped, and engraved with the
sigil of a flying dragon, his family crest. He almost always wears a pair of leather boots, with titanium
plates riveted on the toes and heels, but he can occasionally be seen barefoot.
He normally carries a set of twin .50 caliber Desert Eagles in a
traditional crossover style holster. His
hair is usually either tied up, or underneath his favorite buckskin cowboy hat.
Finally, he carries a machete length tanto sword, sheathed into a special
compartment of his gun holsters.
Weaknesses
Brian has a few weaknesses related to being a Wamphyri, they are one, the
requirement of fresh rare or raw meat to be consumed along with normal blood
consumption. Two, he has a severe
allergy to silver, which takes his body twice as long to heal.
Finally, Brian has trouble keeping himself under control, which can lead
to him being drawn into a trancelike state, for up to an hour.
