Character Description: Alexis is the classic Italian Princess. She is 5’7”, 135 lbs, and built like a brick shit house. She has long black hair and dark chocolate brown eyes. Because of her heritage she is not as pale as her kindred friends but rather a tawny honey colored woman.
Mental Description:
She is old enough to
be dangerous and she knows it. She lives hard, loves hard and fights hard.
She is the head of a family of Giovanni’s, who would much rather see a
male as the head of the household but none have been able to step up to
the plate and knock her from the position. She has not embraced any in her
time, saving it for the one perfect specimen, the one who shall rule after
her. She is always looking and will not cease until she finds that one.
She sees herself as an astute business woman who has turned one small
funeral home into a large chain across the United States, making Giovanni
Funeral Homes a well known and respected name. It amuses her to make a
profit from the dead, when it is also death that brings their family
together.
Character History:
An Italian Princess. Three words and it does explain it all. She comes
from a long lineage of a powerful family from Sicily. The Family has their
fingers in many ventures, business, entertainment, mob, and politics. She
was raised knowing what her family was and what they do for a living. Her
mother Brianna made sure to raise her with the mind set that girls can do
anything they want, even when this was a time in History when women should
be seen, when wanted, never heard, unless the man asked them a specific
question. She has several brothers and sisters, as any good Italian family
would. She is close to several still, but being the oldest, she has taken
over the family responsibilities. She lived in Mancia for quite some time,
making powerful friends and enemies along the way. Because of those
friendships, she has found her way to the Island, in hopes of living the
rest of her life in a place that allows her to be free enough to be what
she is without hiding it, but also allow her to run her company via
telecommunication. Hearing that there is mortal life on the Island as
well, she decided it would not hurt her to open up a smaller branch of the
Giovanni Funeral home on the island, because even on the Island, people
die and those that love them wish to honor them with an expensive funeral,
or so she hopes.
Weapons:
She carries a small derringer in
her body at all times, habit from the mainland, where ripping her fangs
into their throats is not acceptable.
Abilities:

Eye of the dead:
This ability allows anyone in the family to be able to look into the eyes of a corpse and see the last things they saw before death. This can allow the person using it to see perhaps who the killer was, how they were killed, etc. (roll of 10 for 24 hours, roll of 15 for 48, roll of 18 for 72 hours)
Spirit Summary:
This ability allows the family member to call forth and summon the soul of a dead mortal or vampire. The person using this ability must have something of the person they are trying to call in the room with them and in their hand and must know the person’s name. (dead NPC auto, vampire, out roll target by 30)
Spirit Mastery:
This ability allows the family member allows the spirit that was called forth, using Spirit Summary, to actually command the spirit and have it perform simple tasks for them. If a roll fails on this ability, it means the spirit can become enraged and attack the one trying to command it. (NPC roll of 12 or 50 percent dice which ever is less, other wise out roll target by 10)
Spirit Haunting:
This ability allows the family member who is able to Master the Spirit, to actually bind it to certain place or object, not allowing it to return to Shadowland. Each success is min of 15 and 75 percent of die.)
1 success = 1 day
2 success = 2 days
and so on
Spirit Stealing:
This ability allows the family member to steal the spirit/soul directly from a living being. Once drawn out of the living body, it is treated as a ghost. If it is taken out of a mortal body, the body of the human will start to decompose and deteriorate. If it is drawn from a vampire, the vampire will then go into a state of deep sleep (torpor...don’t know what you all call it here). The soul/ghost can roll to go back to its host body unless something prevents it. (must out roll target by 30 If willing 10)
Spirit Possession:
Allows the person to take the spirit it stole using Spirit Stealing and place it in a recently deceased body. The spirit may inhabit the body as long as it pleases. The body must be not dead for more than 30 minutes for this to work and you cannot force the spirit into the body, it has to be willing. (roll of 20)

False animation:
This ability allows the family member to animate one part of a corpse for a very short period of time. Perhaps to open their eyes, to turn their head, to raise a hand to point at something. (roll of 10)
Corpse on command:
This ability allows the family member to raise the corpse and have them perform simple duties as needed. They do not attack nor do they defend if attacked. They simply carry out the task that was commanded. Examples may be, dig a grave for the funeral home. Clean out all the chimneys. Remove the dead body from the floor and take it away to the cellar. These corpses can be killed usually only by fire, or by dismemberment. They decompose but it takes longer this way than if they were just normal corpses. (roll of 15 if npc)
Corporal Corpses:
These corpses are similar to the Corpse on Command but they can attack and defend themselves. They do it slowly and not very well. They will hang out for centuries to follow the Command they were given, such as “Kill anyone who harms Alexis”, “Stay here and guard the family tomes”. (to use in battle the corps takes 20 percent of your hit points and can only use 50 percent of your die)

Rigormortis
Death Mask:
This ability allows the family member casting it or his/her target to take on the demeanor of the dead. Flesh becomes stiff and pale. Joints and limbs become rigid and inflexible. Can be used as a defense mode, to hide away from ones hunting, or used as a offensive mode, making one appear to be the walking dead. (auto just rp it out)
Curse of Decay:
This ability allows you to create rapid aging in the target. The victim begins to suffer the effects of old age: skin becomes pallid and think bones become brittle, and the victim may even begin to experienced advanced effects of arthritis or other ailments of the elderly. (ritual of 1100 and then must out roll target to enact, effect lasts for one week)
Enliven:
The one who possesses this ability can actually pull themselves away from the grip of death. The caster can awaken him/herself or another vampire up who is in repose. If attempting to wake another vampire, the caster must touch the vampire he/she intends to awaken. If the target of this power was driven into repose due to the blood loss, they will awaken with one point off their total point count. (must give the one in repose 50 percent of their total points and you loose that amount, you can not fall under 50 percent of yours.)
Daywalker:
For a short period of time the caster can be rid of some of the traditional bane’s of being a vampire. While the caster is doing this ability, he/she is not affected by any of the traditional banes against vampires. His/her body is not burned by sunlight, and holy water does not harm him/her in any way; however, his/her body becomes nothing more than a corpse. A vampire who is staked through the heart while under this power is still paralyzed once the power's effects wear off. This state is beyond that of even repose; the character cannot use Disciplines of any kind, and is unaware of anything that transpires around him/her. For the duration of the power, he/she is truly dead. (auto)
Devil’s Dance:
By touching an individual, the caster can cause the target to experience an early death (or, in the case of vampires, to enter repose). The victim, if mortal, begins to exhibit signs of plague: sunken and blackened eyes, swollen lymph's and a sickly pallor of the skin. Within one day, all bodily functions cease. Vampire victims of this enter repose immediately. (death blow, must be done after all hit points are used then out roll target by 15)
(Rituals)
(level 1)
Sounds of the dead:
It is a short ritual that takes around 10 to 15 minutes to cast. The one doing the ritual needs the hair of the target and a black candle. The ritual is complete as the hair is burned by the flame from the black candle. Once it is complete and it is successful the person casting this ritual , the target will be able to hear bits and pieces of conversation from the Shadowlands beyond the barrier that keeps the two worlds apart. If the target is not prepared or unaware that this is going to happen they will hear howling, moaning, demands that make no sense, they will have no way of making any sense of what they are hearing and it can drive the target insane for a brief time. Circle of safety:
When a family member wishes to make sure that they are able to cast their powers and want to make sure that they are safe from any ghosts, demons or spirits, they will follow this simple ritual beforehand.
They must bath, fast and abstain from any physical comfort or pleasure for one night. Then the person will dress themselves in high quality robes especially prepared for this ritual and draw a circle on the floor in a place of safety. He/She must remain in that circle while they cast their other abilities and this will keep them safe from the afore mentioned ghosts, demons or spirits that they may come across during their other rituals.

Death becomes you:
This ritual takes 2 hours. The target will see their death in visions for up to one week. It will hinder other activities if it happens at bad times, such as driving, cooking, whatever they are doing. The one casting this ritual will not see what the target sees; only the target will be able to see their death. This ritual requires a pinch of soil from a fresh grave. ( a ritual of 1200, no roll under 12 and three roll of at least 22, then must out roll target to inact)
Death Subject:
This is a great ritual if you wish to have a conversation with the recently departed or you wish to torture someone’s mind. The target can be willing or unwilling. You need to rub soil from a grave over the target’s eyes, forehead and lips for one hour to cast this ritual. The ritual lasts one night, even if the grave soil is washed off or otherwise removed. For the course of the one night, any wraith or demon can attempt to take control of the target. (more information needed locked)

Hear nothing but evil:
This is a ritual that can ward a room for the span of one night against any sort of eavesdropping. Whether it is through electronic means, vampiric means, purely by accident (walking by the room), if one tries to hear what is going on the area that has been treated, they will hear nothing but the sounds of ghostly wailing, high winds and demonic cries. It takes 30 minutes to cast this spell, by drawing an unbroken line of ash from a crematorium along the room’s walls (this line may pass over doors and windows to allow people to enter and leave). The higher the success rate, the more space it will encompass.
1 success = 1 room (roll of 500 no roll under 12 any perfect makes auto)
2 success = 2 room (roll of 700 no roll under 12 any perfect makes auto)
3 success = 3 room (roll of 800 no roll under 12 any perfect makes auto)
4 success = entire house (roll of 900 no roll under 12 any perfect makes auto)
5 success = entire property line. (roll of 1000 no roll under 12 any perfect makes auto)

Voodoo Hoodoo
This ritual takes 3 hours and the capabilities to melt a wax doll into the figure of the target. By melting it into the form of the target, the target becomes a corpselike mockery of themselves. As the wax doll loses form, so does the target becomes clammy and weak. Their pulse becomes slow and thready; he/she becomes pale and shaky. They for all thoughts and purposes, become to resemble the walking dead. The effects of the ritual wear off only when the wax of the doll is permitted to resolidify. If the wax is allowed to boil off, the spell is broken. (roll of 2000 no roll less then 15, must have at least 3 (24's) Must out roll target by 5 to ignite, Maybe over came if person see's a healer and they preform ritual of at least same to over come it.)
